This is a callable function.

What it does

Audio from a 16-bit PCM WAV document holding at most `maxSamples` samples.

Chunks are walked by their declared sizes inside the RIFF bounds, unknown

chunks are skipped with their padding byte, the format must precede the

data, and every size is checked against the bytes present. The samples are

then taken as one slice of the document.
