What it does
The real location of path within base, refused when it lies outside.
Both are resolved through symbolic links first, so a link inside the base
that points elsewhere is caught rather than trusted because of how its name
reads. The path must exist, because a location that does not exist yet has
no links to resolve.
Read the signature
- The text after the name is the type checked by Pudu.
- Read arrows from left to right: inputs come first, and the final type is returned.
- Names inside [ ] are type arguments, such as the item type held by a collection.
- Result makes success and recoverable failure part of the function's type.
