This is a callable function.

What it does

A value read from text, or what stopped the reader.

The runtime's jsonDecode reads the text first, natively. It answers only

for text it reads exactly as the reader below does, and leaves everything

else, including every text that is not JSON, to that reader, so a failure is

described at the same position and in the same words either way.

Read the signature

• The text after the name is the type checked by Pudu.
• Read arrows from left to right: inputs come first, and the final type is returned.
• Names inside [ ] are type arguments, such as the item type held by a collection.
• Result makes success and recoverable failure part of the function's type.
