Std.Process.stop
1 declaration
fn
stop: &Std.Process.Started -> Result[Int, Str]This is a callable function.
What it does
Stop a program, and wait until it is actually gone.
Waiting is what makes this an answer rather than a request: a caller that
stopped a program and moved on would leave it being cleaned up at some
later moment, and anything checking it had stopped would be right only
sometimes.
Read the signature
- The text after the name is the type checked by Pudu.
- Read arrows from left to right: inputs come first, and the final type is returned.
- & borrows a value for this call instead of moving or copying it.
- Names inside [ ] are type arguments, such as the item type held by a collection.
- Result makes success and recoverable failure part of the function's type.
