What it does
Exactly this many of a parser, and a problem if the input runs out first.
"Exactly n" is what separates a format from a shape that resembles it. An
ISO date is four digits, a dash, two digits, a dash, two digits; 2026-1-1
is a different thing wearing the same punctuation, and without this there is
no way to say so.
Read the signature
- The text after the name is the type checked by Pudu.
- Read arrows from left to right: inputs come first, and the final type is returned.
- Names inside [ ] are type arguments, such as the item type held by a collection.
- Result makes success and recoverable failure part of the function's type.
